My friend just opened a checking account with Capital One and she was able to get a credit card with them without having credit of any sort. Upon hearing this news, I immediately dropped my bank and made the switch to Capital One. This is the best thing I have done for myself in a good while. Not only am I getting a credit card, but I was able to pick what design I wanted for my debit card. I am pretty pumped about that; I can’t wait till they both come in the mail! Also, with my other bank, there was an $8 fee per month for having the checking account. With Capital One, there is no fee. Overall I am thoroughly impressed. So now I am well on my way to establishing credit!!!

How in hell are you supposed to establish credit if you have to have some in order to get some. For examples, a car or credit car. I was not approved to buy a car even though I well could have payed it…and I even had a cosigner. No credit establishing there.
Ok then to get a credit card, you also have to be approved. Riggght okay so did I miss some important credit starter boost somewhere because I am on the outside without ever getting close to finding out how to get in.

Either I’ll get a car or I will get a secure loan from the bank. We will see…

But my card came today (wow! I feel quite adult), so I’m checking this off the list because I have no intention of documenting all my future purchases. We can just assume that sooner or later now I’ll have some kind of credit history.

The banking system wants me to go into debt! Hooray!
;-)
Just kidding. I plan to NEVER not pay off my monthly bills in full. Credit history, here I come!

I’ve lived in this country nine years now and I still don’t have a credit history—time to get on this! I’ve applied for a Citibank credit card that doesn’t require a credit history, and we’ll see how it goes.

I’m student and just wanna establish my credit history! But there is really crazy amount of student credit cards . I am stumped for a choice. I’ve heard about Chase bank universal entertainment student MasterCard with 0 APR. It sounds good enough. But my boyfriend has Discover platinum student credit card. I don’t know what card to choose. If you have any student credit card experience, please help me!

GAinCA I will bend the light pretending that it somehow lingered on.
I bought that pair of shoes as my first credit card purchase, and I didn’t allow myself to buy anything else until I paid them off. I paid $20 a month, and my most recent payment was the remainder of it. I am happy to say I am debt free as far as credit is concerned! Hmmm, what can I buy next?

Well, I got a Macy’s card about a week ago and I bought a pair of shoes. They were much too expensive, but I figured “what the heck?” Besides, someday I’m going to have to use credit to buy stuff I actually need, like a house or a car, so I decided that my first purchase should be something fun.
