learn how to play the banjo

I have a trombone I never play. Why bother with a banjo I don’t even own?

It doesn’t look like the banjo is in my near future, but maybe I’ll throw this back on the list someday.

I love the banjo. I really do. When I was small and all the other kids wanted to play the guitar and be rock stars I instead dreamed of playing the banjo. There is something sad and haunting about it, and although most people associate it with hillbillies and hicks, I find a lot of potential in it.

I needs to learn me some banjo.

Banjos are awesome. I’ve wanted to learn how to play for five years. This is difficult to do when 1) I don’t know anything about stringed instruments 2) I know/knew bass clef, not treble (not that I don’t get treble, I just always read bass) and 3) I don’t own a banjo.
I just found out that the step-father one of the people in the program I was running gives banjo lessons. and he has a spare banjo.
I must look into this.
