How to learn to speak hungarian by jenpell

"Hungarian is one of the hardest languages in the world. You have to be really motivated to speak it and immerse yourself in Hungarian culture to do it."

How I did it: I failed. I can only speak a few words and sentences and even those I speak poorly, either in pronunciation or in grammatical structure of the sentences. oh well. I did try.

Lessons & tips: I say go and live in a Hungarian village for a few months with only a Hungarian/English dictionary. Immersion is the only way.

    My ex-boyfriend’s parents are from Hungary so when I started going out with him I was exposed to a lot of Hungarian. I found I could understand a lot of what his parents said but couldn’t speak it. I can count to ten and say a few short words but I want to be able to speak it fluently. =) Wish me luck guys! And good luck with everyone else battling foreign languages.

    My Family on my mothers side are all from Hungary, but with my Dad’s influence and everybody speaking Fluent English I never learn’t and never needed to. My Grandmother has suffered from a stroke, and now dementia and has reverted to Hungarian, and I can’t communicate with her. I’ve bought 2 books and a CD Rom but its a really conveluded language so I’ve really gotta knuckle down on this one. Then I can visit one day and see my Heritage in person
