I got started with golf about a year ago. I remember the first time i played it felt impossible to even HIT the ball. But after many constantly practicing at the driving range i was able to get the hang of things. Going with friends who play and watching the pros play on TV have helped me to the point where the days of missing the ball are gone. I’ve played a couple rounds of golf at actual golf courses which have helped as well with my development. Now my goal is to improve my overall game where i can hit the ball farther off the tee and to improve my putting game.

I bought a new driver this year. What a difference! Adds 25-40 yards on the drives. Yes, I am playing better golf!
I’ve been working 3 times a week on my chipping at the driving range. It seems to be paying off already. Several times I chipped to within 2 feet of the hole! I used to skull the ball with my sand wedge and was afraid to use it.
I guess this a lifetime pursuit, but I really hit straighter and scored better last year and this past winter trip. Time for more goals :-)
Charlie is moving forward, one day at a time.
Besides, I may play golf, but I’ll never play BETTER golf.
Second time out this season and the best round in recent memory! I hope to shoot bogey golf (9 over for 9 holes or 18 over for 18 holes) and rarely succeed. I shot 8 over par for 9 holes so it was a good day.
Just back from holiday in the Algarve, and played golf when there. The clubs I rented included a lob wedge, and although overall my round wasn’t great, the wedge was fab and I had a number of up and downs that saved a shot or two thanks to the wedge. Float it up in the air from close to the green and let it land gently. So, just bought myself a lob wedge (not expensive!!) and we’ll see how it goes. Playing golf next Thursday with work, so time will tell…
that I definitely play better golf than I did a year ago. I’m not good by any stretch of the imagination but I am much better. I bought a driver the other day and I’m pretty happy with it. I think I’ve reached the point where it’s worth it for me to invest the money in better equipment. I’m now driving fairly straight about 175 yards each time. Chipping doesn’t bother me anymore. I know I’m going to do what I need to do most times. My irons can be a bit of a mystery still but I am doing much better. Putting.. blah. some days great and some days horrible. I think if I really work on this I can take ALOT of strokes of my game.
Still need to take a lesson. I’m going to do this soon hopefully. I’m pretty much only using my driver, 7 iron, sand wedge and putter when I play. I would like to improve all around.
