cherryblossom80Couponing, stockpiling & preserving!

Recently I’ve become interested in couponing and stockpiling sale items. I only eat healthy, vegan and mostly organic. I write to my favorite companies asking for coupons, I search for manufacturer coupons online, I like companies on Facebook in exchange for coupons, and I belong to Facebook groups that let me know when new coupons are available! When I find coupons I print out as many as I can and then go to the library to print more when I’ve reached my allowable limit (usually 2 prints). I have a coupon book where I store all my coupons and try to match them up with sales as often as I can. When I find a good sale on an item I usually stock up and store the extras down the basement in our ‘stockpile closet’. This saves us tons when we’re in need of something we’ve run out of and instead of running to the store and paying full price, we can just go down the basement! I’ve been making my own soymilk and nutmilks for sometime now—but we’ve just begun canning late this summer. We’ve made some pickled squash and strawberry jam using fresh, organic, local produce! Next, we’re going to try pickling some beets. I think next summer, we will go even further with this. But for now, we have some nice holiday gifts for the family! 3 months ago
