Find a few people willing to view my online Pilot Exhibition

Access problems?  — 2 years ago

Worth doing!

I’ve just had an email from somebody who tried to access the site but couldn’t get in. I’m waiting for further details.
If the password protection is creating more of an obstacle than it needs to be then I’ll get rid of it. Why did I use password protection anyway – it’s not like me?

1) So I could develop the page incrementally without it being viewed unti it was ready .
2) Because it’s only a pilot, not a professional exhibition, so it’s very much a preview taste of a very incomplete work which isn’t yet suitable for general promotion.

In a chat recently with one invitee it was mentioned that the login didn’t work unless cookies are enabled. That could be it, but I would expect most internet users to have cookies enabled these days – or do they?

Progress with finding a few people to view my pilot  — 2 years ago

Worth doing!

Just as I was getting prepared to start drastically widening my scope, a couple of volunteers have showed up. I have a feeling the direct approach is going to be more effective than posting to selected groups and leaving messages on hidden wikis, but that’s worth doing as well.
It’s tricky because I have a limited time in which to ensure I get enough feedback to be worthwhile, but I’d rather not open it up to an untargetted audience yet because it is supposed to be an excercise in verifying findings with peers as co-workers, and in bulding links for potential collaboration so some opinions are more valuable to me than others, hence the attenpt at filtering audience in the same way as my fellow students will be inviting only the most relevant or close colleagues to attend their physical exhibitions.

The slow build up  — 2 years ago

Worth doing!

I need a small number of people to take a look at my pilot exhibition, and leave me some feedback. It would be best if they are people who have an interest in online communities, in researching the internet, in online exhibition or something else related but if time continues to pass without me finding any then I’ll have to relax the criteria. So I’ll start out by being tentative and discerning, and then day by day I will increase the exposure and the volume until I end up deperately making a nuisance of myself like the guys in Brick Lane or Rue de La Huchette trying to steer passers by into their restaurants.
