How I did it: It started with going for an accounting degree at university, but I WASN'T GETTING IT. So, I went out and read a book The Accounting Game Straight From the Lemonade Stand and it really got my brain going, and now I'm reading other books, like Accounting in a Nutshell, and it all starts to make sense.
Lessons & tips: If you don't get it, go for an easy text that you feel comfortable with. You'll eventually GET IT.

good book and pretty simple
try it out
EDIT: well I’ve been procrastinating much about this, and that’s why I’m making it a personal challenge to become really skilled in the way of accounting in a time of one month
This actually took way more work than I expected, but it’s definitely good material to know.
I’ve done one lesson of a 15 lesson internet intro to accounting course. I would have done more, but the army had me do 32 days of training in the field this summer, among other things. I think I have less than three weeks to finish it for it to post on my school’s transcript as a summer course.
