Ok, in all honesty, I’ve started this one….a couple of times. I just keep getting side tracked with other design ideas. So far, I have forced myself to keep on one project and I’ve gotten 14 inches into a sweater for my husband. It’s rather basic with a design on the front. I’m hoping to start the design soon (only 2 more inches to go!).

I did design this hat for my nephew. I wrote it down, but never typed it up for publication. It’s pretty basic, and mainly chartwork. But what I want to do is learn to design all kinds of knitting patterns and submit them for publication. I took up sewing clothing for this purpose, as a way to help me understand garment construction. But I’m still stuck trying to apply this to knitting.
Hi everyone :)
this morning i wake up with a wish. I want to do a blanket for my bf with his mini refrigerating on this blanket. i know may sound crazy but i want to do it. ;p
the only problem is that i dont have an idea wher i can find the pattern of a mini :(
IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELPME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE?
i tried to find on the net but nothing ehh.mission accomplished –
i designed a grey alpaca cardigan using Barbara Walker’s knitting from the top – I put maritime silver buttons on it and it’s super soft. no, it’s definitely not perfect, but i needed a dark cardigan since i left my favorite one on a plane (RIP), and it’s mine and i made it and designed it and everything. consider gauge conquered.
This amy sound crazy, but I am going to attempt to make a gear shift cozy for my fiance’s porche. I have no idea where to begin… So far I figured I would a doorknob cozy or golf club cover pattern and customize one of them to fit. Then I would incorporate the logo…intartia???
I usually make patterns up as I go along. The trickiest thing for me was to actually write up my pattern in a way that someone else could duplicate it.
i am so in awe of the people who design for knitty.com – it’s so fancy; i can barely get my guage down. i just don’t know if i have the skills to pull something cool looking together. does anybody know of a book that can help?
I think my first pattern design will be a hat, because I like them; they’re quick to knit, they make good gifts, and don’t take much yarn. I sincerely doubt that whatever I come up with will be truly original, since it will most likely just be a very simple stitch pattern applied to a hat shape, and I’ll probably model it after some hats I’ve seen in the local ski lodge. But it’s a good start.
...it’s just percolating in my head right now.
So far, I’ve decided it will be a Moebius scarf, woked seamslessly (that is, cast on around the one long edge, worked to the desired width, and stitches worked off with an edging). Well, there will be one graft, but that doesn’t count as a seam, does it?
I probably won’t be picking out patterns and making this for quite some time. Another goal of mine is to finish unfinished craft projects, so I can’t quite justify starting a new one yet!
