I am going to do this!
I have been quite busy the last few weeks so haven’t got round to getting it.

I plan to go talk to the piercer tomorrow and get it the next day (if the place is alright)
Problem is I’m going on holiday in a month and we will be swimming, i dunno if it will be healed enough by then?

My mum says she might go with me to get my rook piercing for my birthday in a month, but I’m super scared it’ll hurt & I’m not so sure it’s worth the money, time, etc. So I don’t know. I also can’t find earrings I like, so I may go with another piercing.

do ittt :) 2 months ago

I got my rook pierced about 2 months ago on complete impulse. I had previously had my navel (for about 5 years), my conch (for 6 months), my anti-helix (1 month), and 2 tattoos and I was itching for a new piercing. I had wanted to get my rook since I was 16, and being 22, I decided to just do it. I will swear by it to this day, even after having my anti-helix fail (got it done by a not-so reputable piercer, stupid me) and getting my industrial, that the rook was by far the most painful thing ever out of everything I have. I was cursing and swearing like a sailor in the store; but the reason it hurts so bad is all the pressure the piercer has to apply to the area to penetrate all the hard cartilage (there sure is alot). It has, however, been the easiest and most pleasurable piercing to heal and it looks sweet. I’d say suck it up and do it, and def. get it done with a curved 16GA barbell, because you will be able to lie on it after its done and I find that my piercings heal better when pierced with a barbell. Hope this helps!

I am probably gonna get this piercing when
a) i have the cash
b) my helix heals
i got my helix pierced 3 weeks ago and its still sore to lie on that side of my head so i don’t want the other side of my head to hurt as well

I already have my ears done x2 my left helix and left tragus done and I think that my right ear looks a little bare now and when i saw the rook piercing i thought how pretty,
i did contemplate getting my other tragus done but i like the asymmetrical look so i scrapped that idea

I’ve got 8 piercings.
Down from 12.
Including one stretched lobe, left side of my lip, tragus, industrial, lobe x 2 on both ears, top of my right ear, middle of my right ear, middle of my left ear.
I had the industrial in my left but lost the top earring so i’m left with the other one. It took ages to heal and I don’t want to get it re-pierced yet because the top one was REALLY painful ahah.
My right ear looks bare compared to my left and I think a rook would make it look nice.
As soon as I’ve got the cash I’m gonna get it done.
The pain doesn’t bother me at all so I’m really excited!
