I watched an episode of ‘The Closer’ with Kyra Sedgwick on TNT (new favorite!). I knew the answer before they did! I don’t know if that counts, but it’s fun for me. Normally I’m confused until the end credits on those detective shows.
If this does count, then I don’t know what I did. I have been watching ‘Leverage’ and ‘Burn Notice’ (love that basic cable stuff) – maybe some of their skills have been rubbing off on me?

A wild tiger could be crouching and ready to pounce on me and I wouldn’t see it until it was on top of me. I don’t know how I’m going to conquer this one, but I’m slowly watching movies and trying to observe random items and quirky things about scenery, people etc.

Always wrapped up in myself. I think it’s great when people have really inquisitive minds and live their life looking beyond themselves. Don’t know why it’s hard for me.

For my own benefit and because I don’t wanna look like a fool looking for something on the shelf when it’s probably about 2cm away from where I was staring (and the customer picks it up and I don’t!)

no progress

Still have not made much progress in this, as I am continually reminded… it’s not a problem in my life or anything but still, would be a great advantage to be super-observant

I definitely need to be more observant. So my friends threw me a surprise party in my basement for my birthday (Yay!). After the screaming and shock, one of my friends comes up to me and says, “You know, I totally thought you would have noticed something was up as you came down the stairs and realized the ping-pong table was gone!” I stared at her for a minute, then looked around the basement and realized…Oh My God! The ping-pong table was gone! o_O Nothing gets by me…

It’s funny what you’ve never noticed, even on the block you live on. Keeping the attention level up is hard, but I guess that’s what it takes. Tips anyone?

Yesterday was amazing.I saw so many things
a Hawk hovering on a thermal,a very long haired man wakling a very long haired dog(people really do look like their pets).
a young girl on a bicycle, dressed in all shades of brown .she had the most amazing head of long rippling black hair and she was going down a hill, her hair and her dress was streaming behind her, straight out behind her like flags unfurled.it looked like she was having a good time getting to where she was going.
the river was up due to the cleansing rain storms we have had.
my inner voice was awake as well,a non caring sales clerk,’didn’t get my money’,when i got home jake had every window in the house open, amazing cool fresh air all through the house,he even remembered to turn the thermostat down so the furnace would not kick on.after all winter with the house shut up it smelled so good.and sounded good to. no TV,only the birds in the yard and the children playing after school. It is so worth really seeing your day.

I’m taking acting this semester, and one of the major assignments we have is to keep a sense journal. That is, each day of the week (M-F) is dedicated to a sense. Monday might be sight, Tuesday might be sound, Wednesday might be touch, Thursday taste and Friday smell. The idea is that every day I have to write in the journal something that I’ve noticed pertaining to that sense. On Monday, I was sitting in another class when I noticed on the windowsill a bird that was redder than my car, so I’ll write something about that. Yesterday, my cat was feeling particularly affectionate, and I was revelling in how soft her fur is, so I’ll write about that.
I can see myself looking for things to notice for my journal now. I hope it proves effective.

Yeah… I dont notice very much. My best friend is someone who sees everything. I would love to be able to notice and take in everything I see. My best friend once said “what?..you dont like seeing?” It made me think…
