This undertaking has been going quite well!
I’ve found some nice new items, all of them from fleamarkets, so they have not been expensive. I also managed to go through my closet quickly and got rid of 26 pieces of clothing, which are now on sale at one fleamarket. I still have some clothes in the closet that will be going away, too, but I’m not really in a hurry to get rid of all of them right away.

I also reached an enlightenment of sorts a little over a week ago, concerning my own style. I now have a clear image in my head about what I want to be wearing from now on.
It’s basically a very casual, basic t-shirt & jeans style, but I will be adding some indie and vintage spices in there, too. In earthy colours. It’s a bit hard to explain exactly what I want in words, but hopefully you’ll be able to see what I mean once I’ve managed to put everything together.
Money is still a bit of a problem, because I don’t want to be spending a lot right now, but the sales are also tempting me a bit and I would need a couple of very basic elements to add to my wardrobe. Like a really good pair of jeans and some new black pants, my old ones almost have holes in them.

My new favorite items can be seen on the pics above: I finally found the kind of belt that I’d been looking for, it’s perfect! And it only cost 1,50 euros. :) I’ve also found nice shirts, the loveliest has probably been this mustard coloured one that I’m still wearing, I adore it! I’ve never had this colour before, it’s refreshing and I think it looks good as well.

Hmm I just want more dresses in fun colors, maybe one or two more pairs of jeans, and a lot of shorts and shirts that are dependable and comfortable to wear. I’m in summer right now, and I basically just wear shorts and T-shirts. I’d like more dressy tops and shoes too.

I feel like I should just say that part of why I want to do this is because I just like shopping, and I want to express myself :)

    Next purchase... 1 week ago

I have bought pyjamas. The next purchase on my list is to buy clothing to wear at home.

The purge is complete... 3 weeks ago

As of today, I have officially purged through all my clothing. It is unbelievable the amount of clothing that I have given away – but it feels great!

The next step is to begin replacing some of the clothing I have given away. I have already replaced my underwear, bras, and socks. Next, I will purchase some new pyjamas.

to update my wardrobe #01: find a style that suits me 4 weeks ago

As a part of my “reboot” process, I’m intending to update my wardrobe, so I guess it’s time to find a more mature, but casual and stylish style for myself. Time to get rid of those old-fashioned t-shirts (will donate some of them) and find something more attractive, but comfortable. Good luck for me with that.

    New pieces 4 weeks ago

I’ve been acquiring some new clothes recently.
Two weeks ago my mother and I visited a fleamarket, like we usually do on Mondays, and I found myself an awesome hoodie for just 2 euros! I’ve been really happy about that, the hoodie has become like a jacket for me now. (I wouldn’t mind having a real summer jacket either, heh. This is a problem I always have.) I also found a cute summer dress for 3 euros but I’m not yet quite sure how much I’ll actually be wearing it and my mother bought me another dress, which is a lot fancier (but was pretty cheap) and I’m thinking of wearing it for my cousin’s confirmation party later this summer.
Before our trip to France I found the perfect summer dress, I’m totally in love with it! You can see it on the photo above. And I got so lucky with that dress: the real price was almost 30 euros, but as I was fitting the dress on, I noticed it had a couple of minor spots at the front. I didn’t mind that, they’re not really noticeable, but I figured I should point them out to the cashier, maybe I could get a discount. Since this was the only dress in my size, the salesperson did give me a discount. When she was punching the numbers into the cash machine, she noticed that the dress was actually on sale and it was only a bit over 16 euros. She still agreed to give me a bit of a discount for the stains. When she was getting ready to fold the dress and put it into a bag, she noticed that there were little holes on the backside of the dress. She ended up giving me the dress for 10 euros, wohoo! :D And those holes were easy to fix, no problem. I can’t believe the luck I had, hahaa.
When we were in Turku last week, we went to a fleamarket with Juho’s mother and I found two pairs of jeans for just 10 euros in total. :)
And this Monday mum and I went to the fleamarket again here in Tampere and I found a really cute skirt and a lovely green top. My mum offered to pay for those, yay.
Lots of nice new stuff. :) Oh and I also got a bit over 20 euros from the fleamarket for some of my old stuff that had been sold, hurray!

I’d still need to get rid of a lot of my old clothes and make some more room in my closet for the new ones. Since I’m being really indecisive about what to do today, maybe I should tackle this project right now, hmm~

    Refocus 1 month ago

Not only did I take a break for a month but I returned a few items. I guess I was a little shop-happy. Blame it on the excitement of having so many clothes options.
I have a small pile of some of my larger clothes which I’d like to take to the tailor (once I find one!) to see if they can be re-purposed. It’ll be nice getting some of my old “friends” back to wear.

    Purging... 1 month ago

The next step in updating my wardrobe will be to go through the clothes which I currently own. The purpose of this task is to discard any clothing which is ripped/torn or does not fit well. Once I purge through the clothing I own, I will have a better sense of what I need to purchase.
