I looked thru my clothes last night and saw more hangers had turned around (helped by losing a few lbs). I decided I need a cardigan; a nice button down sweater -instead of a blazer. I had a 15% off Kohl’s coupon that expired today which I was NOT going to use…oh, well. It wouldn’t hurt to just LOOK…
I walked thru the store found only 1 cardigan. Don’t they make them anymore? Frustrated, I tried on a few shirts, not to buy, just to see what fit…Then I went thru the clearance rack and found a nice cap sleeve print top. I remember trying it on in the spring. Back then, the ticket price was $36, on sale for $21. This time? $10 – less 15%. Now how could I walk away from such a deal? And it fit better now. So….I gave in. No, it’s not a cardigan, but now I have a nice pretty top to wear under one when I finally find it!
How to update my wardrobe
How I did it: Style magazines were of little use since most of the advertised items I found were impractical for the average person. It's nice to find something stylish without feeling out of place here.

On Sunday, I swapped out my summer clothes for the winter stuff.I didn’t have a lot to pack up since I got rid of so much during my purging-frenzy. Nice!
Since I wear much of my stuff year-round, I didn’t have a lot to unpack either, just a few heavy sweaters, 2 of which I decided had served me well but had earned early retirement.
I will NOT (say again – will NOT) buy new clothes until more hangers are turned around.
I will go thru my closet again to purge MORE (so maybe I can buy something?).
I will go thru my coat-hat-scarf-glove-boot collection before the month end and get rid of anything I don’t wear. It would be nice to donate BEFORE the winter, not after.
Lots of my brother’s old t-shirts. I’m comfortable enough wearing them, but I’d like other clothes, too. And I plan on buying secondhand clothes to help reduce the amount of resources and to get them cheaper. I especially need more jeans…
It appears that I’m 6 weeks into the “hanger test”. I noticed a few more things now have the hanger in the right direction. Part is because I’ve lost some poundage and they fit again (yeah)and part is that the weather is changing so I’m into the less-light weight stuff.
I really, really want to buy some clothes but I’m going to try to hold off until I go through what is packed away. Plus, I just read an entry that reminded me I bought some nice things in March from Ann Taylor, on clearance, so they must have been fall-like. I need to look at what I got – I bet I can wear it all soon.
Kind of like clothes shopping in my own closet…..
Donna * on hiatus *
I forgot to post about my finding two pairs of very cool pants at the consignment shop a few weeks ago.
And about six weeks before that, I replaced the baggy blank pants with a pair that fit much better.
My wardrobe is getting updated, little by little.
‘Sure be fun to get a windfall and really overhaul it! Maybe in my next life…
I know it’s not much but it’s a start. I am stuck in a rut! I have a passion for fashion I LOVE clothes. But I never seem to be satisfied. I buy the same stuff over and over …. and I get tierd of my stuff so quickly! Ahhhh! I’m going to do a clean sweep and them I am going shopping in a new light. I’m going to steer clear off any old habits and only pick out items that I love!
Wish me luck!

I found some great Organic stuff this past weekend! Normally every time I look at that stuff its to expensive! But we found a great place in Downtown McKinney that had organic stuff and had some sales going one. So I was able to get a t-shirt that says “Think Global” and orange skirt and a black dress! Then at Whole Foods I got a 100% bamboo t-shirt! It seriously feels like your not wearing anything with that shirt!! It’s awesome!! :D
So I’ve updated a little bit…..now to find a top for the skirt….

“where should an 18 year old male shop to look more mature? People think I look too young, and it could be because of my wardrobe”
