How I did it: I feel more confident and I just went shopping with the money I made and asked what looked best on my body, and the employees helped me find the best pieces. All you have to do is keep an open mind to change. Good luck, all! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I started looking at my clothes and hating them. They were several seasons out of style and didn't accentuate my strongest physical attributes. I did some research and it came together.I was in Argentina visiting my grandmother at the time. The Argentine youth are very stylish even by American standards. I went to a few stores in Argentina where the clothing is 2/3 of the price for the same item in the States.I went crazy and picked out m… Read how I did it…
Sam is starting a new chapter of her life.
How I did it: over time (cause I didnt have alot of $$$) I went out of my way to buy stuff I really liked. I took more time to think about what I wanted before I went and bought it.Now I think Im gonna try to get everything second hand to some extent.Even if its at those more expencive thrift stores cause I think its better for the environment and my wallet! How I did it: I bought jeans from Walmart and a shirt from Target. Target has a nice selection of Graphic Tees for a department store. I also bought an Imaginary Foundation tshirt from Karmaloop. IF is definitely my favorite brand. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Style magazines were of little use since most of the advertised items I found were impractical for the average person. It's nice to find something stylish without feeling out of place here. Read how I did it…
I think I’m close to being done with this.
I got a few new sweaters; the 3 I bought just last year were large, and I’m now a small. I’m set with work clothes, including shoes. Some are even doing double-duty as casual. That’s my attempt to upgrade my image by not always wearing jeans and sneakers for “play clothes”. I got 2 new winter coats – 1 full length, 1 short, more casual.
So what’s left? Dressy. I don’t mean dresses; I mean fancy, something for “dress up”. I haven’t had the need for it but I think it’s time I thought about it.
Kind of like what came first, the little black dress or the place to where it to…?

are AMAZING. love them. Just need to finish doing my laundry so I can wear them.
Because I have a small chest I should wear:
- Top-heavy clothes e.g. statement shoulders, gathered sleeves
- Colour, layers and patterns e.g. sequins, stripes, large prints
- Unusual necklines e.g. ruffled, lacy, scallop neck, scoop neck
- Accessories at chest area e.g. large brooches, scarves maybe?
- Backless dresses
- Spaghetti straps
- Bandeau dresses to show off shoulders instead of boobs
Because I have a small waist I should wear:
- Wide belts just below bust, ending at waist (in contrasting colour)
- Tighter tops
- Empire lines
Other:
- Relatively wide hips: bright colours on top, no tops that cut off at the hip. Maybe either long tops/tunics or tucked into a high-waisted skirt with a belt?
- Would like a push-up bra or two to enhance cleavage :) a strapless one/multiway would be good

Not getting any new clothes, but I am psyched that I am actually getting a new pair of casual shoes. I cannot remember the last time I had a pair of those. lol. All of the pairs I have now are dress shoes and one pair of running shoes.
I have no idea about what type of clothes I like. I need to like… find my style but have no idea how to go about it. Like, I find it hard to find clothes I like. Then when I do find them, they hardly ever suit me or anything.
I don’t even have time to shop. Schoolwork and earning money are wasating my time :( what’s the point in earning if I can’t spend it??
so i really need some help with this one people. i swear to god i live in jeans and hoodies. and i know i can do better, but most of the time i just feel silly when i wear anything else. I really do clean up well, it just always seems like a chore. if anyone has suggestions of what i can do to be a little more girly or glam or whatever without feeling like im trying too hard, please let me know! :)

My birthday is coming up so hopefully I can get some new clothes to make my style more like me now.
GarlickyDays is trying to be productive.
I’ve put on more weight in the last few months from comfort eating(enough for my boyfriend to comment in fact) and my tops look too small on me. Not much point to going shopping right now as I’m hoping to drop back down to my old size. A nice new wardrobe will be the motivation I need!

I want to get rid of the shirts I don’t like anymore(i.e.—really casual shirts, my raggedy shorts, the pants I don’t like, etc.)
I want to update my wardrobe to a more mature and sophisticated style. New York style to be exact.
