I’ve made it my personal goal to learn at least 3 songs before I go on vacation next month.. No real reason why but I’ve been slacking lately. 8 months ago

Invested in an acoustic which is just heaven to play. Using nylon strings at the moment which seem to be kinder to my fingers 11 months ago

but instead it stares me in the face and taunts me. I’d like to play more guitar, but not if it’s forced. “Giving up” just to get this out of my way. Perhaps I’ll be more likely to play if I don’t feel like it’s an obligation. And if I don’t play, then I’ll find a different activity to fill my time. 12 months ago

Last year I had a goal to play more guitar and record cover songs… I had figured if I could 12 in 12 months – that would be good. This year I’ve decided the same thing.

So far though I seem to be ahead of myself and have 4 cover songs recorded… this is good though. Playing guitar is relaxing and takes my mind off some of the stressful things. 14 months ago

until I pick one up and play. I thought I’d forgotten all that I learned, but when I decided to pick up R’s nylon string last week, I hit a G chord on the first try. With a little prompting from R, I also remembered the bit of Free Fallin’ I used to know. It felt so good to play, if only for a minute or two.

We plan on hanging a few guitars on the living room wall as decoration, using quick-release hangers that will make it easier to pick up and play on a whim. I don’t anticipate becoming some stellar player, but it would be nice to play on a regular basis (and finally knock this goal off of my list!). 17 months ago
