Ramados2 "Let me die" I cryed as the curtain fell...
Well I’ve been really busy since March. My AP teachers had gone crazy with reviews and I have been working on those every night since then and have barly touched my guitar. Now my AP tests are over and I can get back to playing. I need a new guitar though. Mine is a Telocaster, and while its a good guitar, it doesn’t suit the style of music I play. I want to get an ESP, Ibanez, or a Schecter.
Today though I played for an hour and a half and it was amazing. I need to work on my pick control again though. Well hopefully nothing comes up and I am free to play guitar for a while. My goal is 15 minutes a day at least on my busier days (Thursday, Wednesday and Saturday). and hopefully an hour on the rest of the days.
I just bought myself a tuner, just like my boyfriend’s… it’s amazing how much easier it is to tune with the help of a little gadget! I’d been so busy over the past week that I’ve barely touched my guitar… it felt so good to play again and hear a crisp, quality sound. I think I fall in love with my guitar every time I play it :-)
I took my guitar out of its case this morning and played for just a bit before going into work. I’ll be returning my Fender today after getting out of work. And I think my Saturday evening/night will be spent playing some more :-) I freaking love it!
My boyfriend and I are both freaking obsessed with our new guitars! I am so glad he talked me into the purchase… I’ve already started working on a song :-) I know it’s going to be a process and that I have a LOT to learn, but it’s nice to finally be able play whenever I please.
I went guitar shopping with the boyfriend today and we both ended up purchasing new guitars! My old one will be returned to Costco next week (I shudder at the thought of owning a Costco guitar; even if it is a Fender, it’s a piece of crap). It feels so nice to be the proud owner of a quality guitar, and with the help of the boyfriend I’ve got a few songs picked out to learn… songs that I love and that are reasonably easy to play.
With the next three days off of work, I plan to step it up on this goal. Sooooooo excited!
My boyfriend is visiting for the weekend, and he tuned up my guitar for me when he got here. It’s got the same problem as the last one – the truss rod seems to be all out of whack! As he has years of guitar experience, I’ve learned that this isn’t as normal as Fender tells me it is. I’m frustrated that my brand new guitar already needs an adjustment, and wonder how much work it might need in the future. Now I’m debating whether I should pay to get it fixed, or send it back, invest a bit more money, and get a decent guitar that doesn’t come in a box…
I just want to play again!
I just picked it up last night and haven’t tuned it up yet, so I’m hoping that everything’s all good. I’m excited to play again, though. Classes are full for this coming session, so it looks like I’ll be learning on my own. :-)
I got an awesome starter guitar for Christmas (a Fender Starcaster acoustic), but after about a month of playing I noticed a serious problem with it. So I returned it, and today I’m putting in an order for a new one.
If I get it in time, I’ll start up with classes at a local music school. If not, I’ll learn with You Tube lessons and guidance from my awesome boyfriend (who has played for 15 years).
I am not setting out to become some rockstar. I just enjoy playing… I find it very therapeutic to kick back and strum for awhile. Lessons will hopefully help me get down the basics so I can do just that – strum and enjoy.
smartgirl11 is getting through the "holiday"
yeppp. I played the day before yesterday and last night! I really want to start playing all the time again and maybe even start lessons back up…if its not me taking them then I want to give them to someone again. =]
