I have read through the entire book. Tomorrow I will dedicate to studying and taking online tests, and Friday I will go to a registry and take the test. I am determined!
How I did it: I studied the entire Alberta Learner's manual, and then went into an Alberta Registery to do the exam. It was very simple- it was on a computer, and if I wasn't sure of a question, I was allowed to skip it until I was done the other questions and returned to it. Fortunately I didn't have to. You have to get 25/30 questions correct to pass, but as soon as you get to 25 correct questions the computer stops you.
Lessons & tips: It's $17.50 to write the exam, but then it's another 40$ to actually get your licence, so come prepared with money. Other than that, it's basically common sense.

Alright. I’ve fallen off the bandwagon on this goal, as well as most of my other ones. But I will get it done!

I drove! Whoot! It wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be, but it turns out I am not a horrible driver. I mostly need to work on reversing, but that will come with time. Well, and I haven’t actually driven in traffic, so that’ll be interesting as well.
I’m thinking of going in Wednesday for my exam. We’ll see how far I come along.

I don’t know what it is, but now I actually want to get my learners licence. I guess it came from ym mom telling me I could drive grandma’s old car around the next time we went up to the farm, and suddenly I was like ‘I could have total control over where I go. I could go places I wouldn’t be able to get to alone right now.’
My mom has also been really good at answering all my questions, especially about driving a standard. I’ve been readign one chapter a day faithfully, so hopefully I will b3e legal in not too long.

I have to admit, I have no desire to get my learners permit. I don’t really have a desire to drive. I like public transit. It’s earth friendly and I don’t have to worry about it breaking down or getting in an accident or whatever. My grandma is even going to give me her old car when I can drive and I just don’t give a fuck.
However, the one reason why I do want to drive is because my grandma is getting old and does not drive so well anymore. When we go out, I’d like to drive her instead of fearing for our lives. Plus my mom has glaucoma, so I’m going to have to learn anyway. So I’m doing a blitzkreig of studying- no excuses. The Alberta learners manual has 10 chapters. Starting today, I’m doing one a day. Then I will go and try the test either Thursday or Friday. I will get this done. That is my solemn vow.
Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
After my latest bout of assignments are done (i.e. next Tuesday), I’m sitting down and learning the hell out of that goddamn road rules book and getting it before I completely lose my mind.
