A local “Science and Technology Community Center” is offering an introductory course. I’m enrolled. Radio is easier than I expected! Exciting!

I am excited and have been thinking about doing this for a while because I’ve been running a teleclass every Wednesday at 7pm Pacific for over a year now. I keep thinking, “what else can I do to stretch myself and put myself out there?” Since I have previous broadcasting experience I thought RADIO!

Well, I’m kind of on the way to this one. I volunteer at JOY Melbourne (when I go) and so know which station I’d like to be on. Or, at least, which station it is most likely I’d be on.
A local radio is looking for producers. I think I could get the job, but I’m not sure it’s what I want. They want it to be political and I want … well, more of a hometown variety show, open lines and chat kind of thing. I don’t tend to be actively upset about politics—I’m not really left or right wing. Advice?
Started talking to an old radio buddy of mine about some ideas I have for this. This goal will probably be on hold for a bit because I’m going to be starting a new job soon and won’t have a lot of time to start new initiatives. But, I would be able to record it in my b-friend’s studio and have a radio station that would likely carry a pilot show…
Okay, many years ago I drove cross country pretty regularly. My late night companion was invariable Art Bell, the most exciting radio host the world has known. Well, after he passed off the show to George Noory, I lost heart. A few years ago, I started listening to an amature radio show, called Ghostly Talk. As you can probably deduce from the title, they talk primarily about ghosts. Now, I am interested in more than just ghosts, but I really love these “things that go bump in the night” talk shows. I’d kind of like to get in on the action. Unfortunately, I a far from an expert in these matters. I know a lot about ancient civilizations and secret societies, but that’s about it. The average New Ager likes these things, but has different beliefs from myself. Perhaps interest and skill in interviewing is enough to carry it? I would be tempted to start on internet because of the ease of start up.
