improve my surfing

Surfing is something i love to do, but living in Manchester means relying on Magicseaweed to offer up decent forecasts – when it does, it’s a 5-6 hr round trip. anyway, this year i plan on getting far more time in the water than previous years & maybe even a trip abroad.

Things are going well, i am planning a surf trip to indo. In feb should be good to surf some good waves as it has been less than 2ft here for a few months now :(

I can now drive, so I will spend the summer chasing the big waves in the UK, France and Spain (whilst shooting for my film school portfolio).
First thing to accomplish is a left hook.

I don’t really think this is going to happen anytime in the near future so I’m giving up on it for now. I’m going to focus on other outdoor activities that I love and are more practical right now.

i am going to plan on surfing at least once a week, as a start.

I went from a 9’6” to a 6’9” to a 7’6”. It’s fair to say that I never really was in control on the 6’9”. I am 5’6”. I want to be able to ride a shortboard so that I can get out on big days, duck dive, and feel what it’s like to have that kind of ride. I have ridden three different shortboards – a potato chip – in costa rica, at Ollie’s Point, but I never got a good ride; a 6’9” Ricky Carrol fun-shape/fish hybrid in Costa Rica and Long Island, NY; and a 6’9” mini gun with a thick center in LA. I definitely was in control in LA, but I didn’t duck dive. I want to add a board to my quiver and feel confident on it.

Going surfing for the first time in AGES this saturday! Can’t wait!!!

k by improve i meant learn because I’ve only done it once…well i might never be on the cover of sg magazine i would still like to go back to hawaii and become better at surfing. :)

and by the way I would like to discover other spots than those in the South West of France
