I need to do a thorough literary search on Queer and Trans theory, before I write and drawn at least one of the graphic novels I’m doing for my Masters in Fine Arts. Without such a search, I stand a good chance of either overlooking something obvious, or duplicating someone’s work.

Perhaps I shouldn’t remove this from my list yet, since it’s very much an ongoing thing, and something I will be studying for years to come. Having read Eve Sedgwick, Judith Halberstam and Michel Foucault this semester has definitely opened my eyes to many things, and has given me a new theoretical framework through which to view the world. Now, if I can only come up with a synthesis of Marxist, feminist and queer theory… and other forms of intersectionality, for that matter…

I love queer theory so much it made me change my major…and I read it for fun outside of school! It has changed the way I think about myself, my relationships and the whole world.
