How I did it: Well, the next time I went to the doctor's, I asked my mom to leave the room so I could just talk to the doctor. I told her what I needed (to have my own control over when the needle went in) and she gave me just that. Now whenever I go I'm still shaky, but it's not something I worry about for weeks in advance anymore. Read how I did it…
*Takergirl* still having trouble with my account but look me up on facebook.
How I did it: Omg, When I saw that Tattooing needle I thought I was gonna die, lol now I know only about 1/16 to 1/32 inch of the whole needle is sticking outta the tattooing gun but Danm I ain't never seen a needle that big, lol But, I would much rather get inked again then to give blood, I really don't have a problem with giving blood anymore but it's not for me at lease the Tattooist that owned the shop could fix my Tattoo, wish I could say the same… Read how I did it…
How I did it: When you have a baby especially on national health in South Africa you have no choice. I even had to have three tetanus shots in case I rubbed cow dung on the baby's umbilical cord. Read how I did it…

It’s no exaggeration to say that even the sight of needles unnerves me. I break out into a cold sweat just looking at them. I know it’s all in the mind and I’d love to become a blood donor because it’s a good thing to do, but I’d have to overcome my fear first. I know it’s all in the mind and completely irrational—but phobias aren’t rational.

in acupuncture. I’ve read up on it, and the benefits and it amazes me. I almost feel like finding a way to approach this could help me overcome this fear, but when I started reading about the needles I started squirming around and experienced a bit of panic. So… I’m open to suggestions and opinions on acupuncture and overcoming this fear altogether.

I have been contemplating and researching acupuncture. I figured this might be a way to overcome this nonsense. As amazing as it sounds, the second I started reading about the needles, and how they do it, and more details, I started squirming and slowly-but surely- freaking out. I’m not even sure I could get through a consultation.
If anyone has ever done this, I would love some comforting words. I could really benefit from acupuncture, let alone overcoming this fear.

I had the flu last week and had to go to the doctor. Needless to say, after just the mention of drawing blood I ran out in tears. It didn’t happen. I get more and more embarrassed, but it’s so completely uncontrollable. I switch to a completely different person. I’m not myself anymore. I don’t know what to do anymore.
I used the need for oral surgery as an opportunity to try and overcome my fear. I did very well during all the appointments, and I feel I’m doing much better!
I still HATE needles, but not as afraid of them as I was in the past!
I am SO afraid of going to the doctor. Even just for minor things, like the time I sprained my ankle. It took me a while to calm down and get it over with. The thing that really holds me back is… this needle business. I can’t do it. I just can’t. I’m working so hard on it, but unlike most people, I’m actually just afraid of the pain. I’m trying so hard to overcome this fear. I need tips. =\
