I have an accredited ENVD degree looking to eventually to get licensed and I don’t plan to go to grad school. I plan to work for architects. Does anyone have any input on whether I should do IDP or get training units? Which would be quicker? Any suggestions?

I got my SP pass letter yesterday. YAY! Waiting on my BT pass letter, and currently studying for CDs.
I have been preparing my license so hard but then, it is not that easy for me. Let’s share some valuable things together so that we can pass it.
I finally got my authorization to test from the state of Florida. Now the ball is in my court and I actually have to study! I think I am doing Materials&Methods first.
It’s actually NCARB, if anyone cares.
I have started studying for my structures exam in earnest – I’ve decided to tackle it first cos it scares me the most. I’m in a study group with other intern dorchitects and am taking a refresher course at the end o’ May.
I have one more round of IDP hours to log. I am actually probably done now, but i need to go back through my time sheets and log them. Then i need to send in that final report along with $235 (Damn you, NCARB!) Then I have to ask ncarb to submit my data to my state licensing board. then i can start taking the exams. ugh. licensure still seems like years away.
For me the license is more about personal accomplishment than it is about making more money, etc. I successfully completed a rigorous education and the license is the final step.
Also, forget about money for a minute…the license carries much more power than simply financial. It says that you have reached a level of expertise in your field and that is very powerful.
So…
I need to start scheduling exams! My goal is two by the end of this year.
When I got my license, my employer didn’t even give me a raise. When I worked in architecture firms, it never really mattered whether I had a license or not. And you have to pay $200 every two years for the rest of your life if you want to keep it. I don’t even do architecture anymore, but I still pay because the license was so hard to get, I can’t imagine ever going through that again.
