I made it to the gym today after probably two years. I have a treadmill in my living room that just laughs at me when I pass by. Today I decided to go across the street into my school’s workout roomm. Although there are like two machines per type (two treadmill, bikes, broken ellipticals), I decided to not turn away and do leg exercises instead. I worked out on the weight machines and it felt good to be back. I loved the burn and pushing myself. I only wish that I could work out on the elliptical or the bikes but I’ll have to do what I can for now. Luckily, I’m transfering to a school that has a better equipped gym. 2 years ago

I tried for years in Chicago to exercise 3 times a week, but it always involved going to the gym since I’m not a jogger and I’m scared to bike in the city (for fear of getting hit by a car). When I moved to LA suddenly I had a new option open up to me: hiking. There are plenty of hills here to hike up and down, and I can hike in the dead of winter because the weather is so mild. And it’s free, so I never have an excuse not to go. I guess I just had to find the exercise and the locale that best suited me. 3 years ago

Last week I exercised twice that week. Usually I exercise only one day per week, but I am slowly trying to do it more often. I did show higher weight on the scales last week which discouraged me quite a bit, but I know I need to keep it up. I know once the weather warms up it will be easier. I never stay home when the weather is nice. 4 years ago
