We have been taking the kids for a little over 6 months or so. Start easy. Close “Standard” size caches with little walking to get them interested. The Standard sizes are more likly to have trading items that the kids might be interested in. Make sure you have items to leave as trades. Let them use the GPS if they are old enough. When you get to parks, and you will, don’t force them if they want to play instead of search. And don’t go after many micro, small or multi caches until they get into it. They can be very boring for children, especially for the younger children. It is a very good family activity and gets the whole family outdoors and active. You end up in some incredible places and some rather uninteresting ones. You will also get more familiar with the area you live in. Good luck and have fun.
Lil, Zach & I found one on the rail trail, They loved it there will probably be more of it.
took them geocaching for the first time in the weekend…managed to find one of the 2 we went looking for…they seem keen to do more so it was sucessful..the fresh air and exercise was good for them too
