I saw an ice hotel in a magazine once and I’ve always wanted to stay in one. I’ll have to go overseas to get to one but I’m sure It’ll be worth it!

I got back yesterday from my stay at the Hotel de Glace in Quebec! You can see a few of my pictures on my Flickr (web address in title bar). It was interesting! Definitely an once-in-a-lifetime experience!
I enjoyed the ice slide, a cocktail in a glass made of ice, ice-sculpting, and the outdoor jacuzzis. If any of you have any questions about the hotel or my experience, I’ll be happy to help. :)
I leave at around 9am in the morning for Quebec City! Wednesday night will be spent in the Ice Hotel. :) It’ll also be my third wedding anniversary. Exciting!

Yep. It is so dawg cold at work I have ordered silk undergarments, head to toe! The budget cuts are so severe we are working with minimal (no?) heat and lights. I have been cold to the bone for two days now. Solution? Order the warm garments I’ll need for staying at an ice hotel and will be good for seeing the Northern Lights too!
Perfect!
My husband has booked us a one-night stay at the Ice Hotel in Quebec in March for our wedding anniversary! I’m pretty excited!
It’s not too far from here, so we’ll just rent a car for the drive. I’m already in Canada so I am ready for the cold. :) They have jacuzzis and a slide made of ice. Our package includes a cocktail served in an ice glass upon arrival and a breakfast the following morning. They give sleeping bags made for cold weather to sleep in at night and the bathrooms are located in a heated building.
I just have to figure out how to get up in the middle of the night and not freeze to death, if I need to go to the bathroom!

Seems I will need to buy clothes, as I really only wear cotton. So, saving some money will be in order. For clothes, the airfare and from what I’ve read the dog mushing! Plus, it would really be great if someone wonderful was found to go on the trip with me. And there is the cat sitting thing…...
I’ll need to schedule my holiday time correctly as well. So, not in 2009, as my holiday time is already scheduled and not for the ice hotel time of year. I’ll plan to save the money during 2009 and hope I have everything in order to be able to take this off my list in 2010.
Zo. I am proud of me for beginning this item. Planning and researching means it will really happen!

I’ve seen some Ice Hotels on the TV and my partner has stayed in one and I would love to try it. Even the glasses you get your drink served in is carved out of ice! Your bed is a slab of ice covered in reindeer skin and you sleep snugly in a sleeping bag suitable for the cold extremes. I might even combine this goal with seeing the Northern Lights.
