How I did it: I wanted a fresh room after my divorce. I redid everything...it is so light and airy. It makes me feel like only good things can happen there. I feel so calm and relaxed in it. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My boyfriend and I went to a DIY store. Picked up some paint (a mushroom colour - came out purple though... ) and some wallpaper (Brown with Gold and pink flowers on it). It took us two days in total to put that lot up on the wall. We also moved around the furniture and threw out alot of junk. Our room looks neat and tidy.Sooo cute. I have spent the last 2 days in it non stop = i just love being in here now. Read how I did it…

I rearranged all my furniture in my bedroom on Sunday. Well, my dad and mom helped lol. They are so awesome I love them so much. I was watching that Home Decorating Channel where they like redecorate people’s homes, and they said that it’s better for the foot of the bed to face the door. It’s suppose to symbolize some type stress release or good karma. So I did it! Hopefully it works. I do like the way all my furniture was placed. It just feels so much more tranquil.
All I need now is to hang all my paintings in frames and paint my walls. Yes.

I redecorated my room in high school (I’m in college now) and I did it like any crazy, slightly immature teenager would; green and purple walls, writing on the walls, posters, burgundy carpet, mattress on the floor, bare light bulbs, pink blinds. It doesn’t fit my personality anymore, but my biggest obstacle in redecoration would be money.
I need a new bed frame, mattress, box spring, bedding, lamp, blinds, etc., etc.,
and the clutter is terrible. I’ve accumulated a lot of useless things in my 20 years of life, and I can’t seem to throw any of it out.

I’m in the process of clearing out stuff, but my biggest endeavor is wanting to strip all the old paint off the wooden floor, wooden baseboards and wooden trim around the windows/door frames. I love the way it looks under all those layers of paint. Now I just have to get them OFF.

It would best be described as a bit surfy and hippy which was my style last year. But a lot can change in 12 months and I’m now in love with the pretty, romantic, vintage-style look. I also would love a tiffany lamp or something similar. Seeing as I’m not moving out any time soon, my parents are helping me decorate my room in a few months and that’s the inspiration I have for it.

3 gallons worth. I went with the paint chip on the far left. I did get a semi-gloss, so it will be a bit lighter than the paint chip which is a matte. I went with the Olympia Latex 15 year washable semi-gloss paint.
Honestly, I don’t know when paint became as complicated as coffee orders, but that’s where we are now. I also picked up new roller heads, because that’s how I roll. (HA!)
If I weren’t making this sound exciting enough, I did find this cool tube of spackle designed to cover nail holes. It’s a tube with an angled applicator that basically encourages you to dispense just enough to cover the nail hole and the tip seems to be designed to wipe it smooth. We’ll see if it’s as spiffy as it looks.
But the BEST NEWS? We’re going to start with the curtain wall. And you know what that means? The death of the evil curtains! Yes, they’ve met their end. And, yes, they’re dusty as all heck in that trash can. That’s how little I cared for those window “treatments.” We have been looking over the walls and have decided to apply a primer coat first.

Well, this is what I’m looking at – in natural light. The ones against the trim are what I’m looking at (and the trim does need to still be painted as well, but that’s another story – it will still be white).
I’m leaning towards the one on the left – Sunset Fire- oooh! If you’re wondering about the angle, this is the sideways view of the left-hand side of the door. That’s the bathroom. It’s greenish (it’s an effect – I will not do that again as I’ve learned that touching every surface on a wall is actually not that fun).

We should be decorating our bedroom this month!

MissLiviDoll asks,
“how do I keep things simple and clean? I like to have things around that make my living space feel like home, but I like to have it all clean and simple as well. What do I do to accomodate both of these interests?”
