How I did it: I'm so happy i finally visited Budapest. It's a beautiful city. You can compare it a bit with Prague with the two city parts and the bridge.
Too be honest - i didn't care too much for the real tourist spots. We can say we saw and did a lot of hidden gems and really enjoyed the beautiful nightlife of Budapest many times. We visited 4 ruined pubs (very well known in Budapest) and visited 3 baths (Budapest other name is city of spa's). I can recommend the spa's very much.
We saw an opera (Madame Butterfly) - the opera inside is amazing! And ofcourse for dinner we had a lot of goulash and goulash soup! And Budapest has some very chique cafés like café New York in the picture! Very stylisch!

How I did it: I got a sweet deal on a room at the Hilton in the Castle District through booking.com. It was quiet & air-conditioned which was a real plus since the weekend was 30+°C!
I studied the Rick Steves book on Budapest on my Kindle.
I booked a cheap RailJet ticket on the öbb (Austrian Railway) site.
