I would be a little more confident in meeting people if I wasn’t so worried about whether I did the right thing or used the right fork or gave the proper introduction. I think it also gives you a bit of class.

As a special date with my girlfriend-who wanted to learn the art of fine dining etiquette-I hired an etiquette consultant. The consultant, the owner of the Final Touch Finishing School in Dallas, reserved a private room for us at an exclusive restaurant. Once we arrived she trained us in every detail of the art of fine dining. Doing it this way was worth it; she was able to answer all of our questions on a one-on-one basis.

Now we can actually enjoy the atmosphere and food at upscale restaurants, rather than worry about what we’re doing wrong. It was-in every way-worth it.

I want to learn the proper table etiquette, simply because you never know where you’ll go in this life. Also, I’d love to go to a 4-star restuarant and not feel uneasy because I don’t know which fork to use for different parts of the meal.
