I have this thought every time I work to help a child with his/her reading! I understand that words evolve from their roots and carry the history of their usage and heritage with them (THANKYOUVERYMUCH Melting Pot!), but I believe that, for example, Spanish-speaking children cannot have such a hard time learning to read and write!
Some more new rules…
No more letters C, Q, or X!
“W” will now be named “weh,” “G” will be named “Geh,” and “H” will be named, “Heh.” The schwa sound will henceforth be spelled “u.” Silent letters, except for “e” are right out!
