It just feels amazing, when you’re put on the spot and you have to deliver. Knees knocking, palms sweating and the cheers and applause reassuring you that indeed you are still standing, and something sweet is surely emoting from your throat, the band has your back and all this energy just rushes out of you.. It’s pretty cool, especially when it is unrehearsed and pretty spontaneous. An authentic act of expression.

I was Dorathy in when we did the Wizard of Oz and I was told the night before the play that they wanted me to do ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ as a solo rather then group song. So I did (I was still a confident young person at this time)
And apparently I made some of the audience cry…im hoping that’s a good thing =p
So, I can sing, but nothing else. So I’ve never really wanted to get up and start singing a capella. But my friend who plays at an open mic night on a regular basis in a dive of a basement pub called the Pilgrim kindly let me sing while he played last Sunday.
I absolutely massacred the first song because I had only practiced the one, but the second was “Set the fire to the third bar” by Snow Patrol, feat Martha Wainwright, which I love. And it was good. I’m a masochist though, because I’m going back for more this Sunday.
It’s so amazing. I don’t think that I’ve ever had a better night.
This is definately a lot of fun. It would n=be nice to perform some of my original work in front of an audience one day.
If I could, I would most definetly perform. Honestly- the talent just isn’t there, which is fine. But if it was, I would lovvve to be in front of an audience and just send shivers up everyones spine with my amazing voice, lol, if it existed. Life works in mysterious ways.
