bellydance

Looked around for more information about bellydance online. Found an awesome list of resources for more information on bellydance. I want to go through this list more carefully later, but the Middle Eastern Dance Camp in particular caught my eye! :)

Also found a couple of teachers in my area listed on Google. Classes are more affordable than I realized… One studio down the street (walking distance from home!) apparently offers a bellydance course for just $12 a class. Need to call and find out what days the class is offered, as well as call a few different places to see what styles of bellydance they teach.

I took bellydance classes on and off for a couple of years after falling in love with this form of dance in high school. I haven’t been to a class in at least six years, but I’ve never stopped missing the sense of centering and grounding that it brought me.

Bellydance made me feel connected to my body. The movements and rhythms tended to provide a sort of meditation for me.

I need to find a decent class close to me because I feel that dancing again would also help me to achieve my goals of losing weight and quitting smoking.

I started bellydancing last year, but haven’t had any lessons for a few months. I want to get to the point that I can join a troupe…right now my bellydancing consists of practicing to music while cleaning the house…

There is no time for me to go to Knoxville right now.

Yeah, ok, so I will go on belly-dancing my own way. What da heck…Only my cats are going to see it anyway (is this considered animal cruelty???)
