I want to teach out of this country! 5 months ago

I have been looking into this for years!! I spent time in Europe and always looked back into TEFL as a way to go back to live & work.

I’d love to spend some time in South America and I think being TEFL certified would help me to realize that goal.

My original plan 14 months ago

was to graduate from my current college (it’s my 2nd degree but in something I love) and jet off to Europe to work (BUNAC) for a year or so. While doing that, I would try to work on the TEFL (part online and part in person at the end for the training). Then I figured it’d be a good time to return “home” and visit family and friends. A short interlude before jetting off to China to teach English for a year or so!

It never hurts to get an additional certification in something…:)!!!

Earn my TEFL and teach English in either Spain, Vietnam or Thailand. Or all 3. I’m not picky.

What's the best one? 18 months ago

I’ve been looking at all these different courses and I can’t tell which one to do!
There’s like TESOL, TEFL, TESL, what’s the best one???

Anyone fancy doing a weekend course in Jan with me? 19 months ago

I’m going to sign up for a weekend course, I’m so excited to be doing it! I “taught” (that is, I had waaay too much fun for it to be work) in China for a month and I’m excited to be getting a qualification!

If you’re in Chicago, we can go together!

BTW. Is it American english or UK (aka proper) english?

Is there a real difference between the basic 40 hour course or should you go for the full 100 hours?

CELTA cert at Hyland Language Center. Very worth it. Rewarding work, and decent money, at least here in Spain!
