How to go to more concerts

How I did it: I guess it gets easier to see more bands play once you get older - I wrote this entry when I was like, thirteen years old. But now that I'm seventeen and have been able to drive for awhile, it's gotten so much easier. I've seen Incubus a second time, as well as PlayRadioPlay!, Coldplay, Meg & Dia, Josh Kelley, and best of all, Andrew Bird (one of my personal favorites). It may not be a hugely impressive concert resume, but I'm pretty happy with how this goal played out. Lessons & tips:

How I did it: I never used to go to many shows, because my "public" music tastes were limited by the people I spent all my time with. Being caught up with a bunch of indie kids that got all their music from the front cover of NME meant that I generally kept my mouth shut when bands like Taking Back Sunday and Simple Plan announced tours. If I could get my dad to come with me to see bands, then I would, but I'll never get over missing Jimmy Eat World be… Read how I did it…

How I did it: It took me a while to buy tickets and obviously wait for the actual festival, but a big group of us decided to just go for it during the summer. the music line up wasn't as great as some previous years, but all the acts were class, & Kings of Leon were fantastic :Dthe people you meet, even getting closer with your already good friends. it's a cool experience, man i have to say. this needs money, which i don’t really have at the moment. but a friend and i have already made a deal to make this happen. we plan to start with “the veronicas” very soon, and then look into an up-close-and-personal gig with mcfly. then hopefully a couple of festivals and fairs before we leave school. then i can get a job and really start ;)
