Took me awhile to get to some concerts. It helped that I moved back to Southern California and can now go to see concerts with my best friend :-) Also helps that I left my husband and I can now buy tickets whenever I want without getting ridiculed for acting like a teenager. We went to see Peter Murphy a few months ago at HOB in Anaheim and saw Echo and the Bunnymen at the Nokia in LA. Peter still has IT! Wow, what can I say about Echo….......still one of the best bands in the world. Ian’s voice sounded better than ever….one of the true greats. Look forward to going to more concerts in the near future. She Wants Revenge opened for Echo and they are worth seeking out and seeing live.

How I did it: First few times, find someone to go with, get your tickets, plan your travel and know which way to walk when you come out the tube (in London). Until you're too old to stand (or have a physical limitation) STANDING tickets are the best way to go, aka Stalls tickets at some venues. As gigging has got really popular in recent years, any medium-large bands you like, you'll need to book tickets in advance. That's sometimes the most… Read how I did it…
How I did it: This past year, I went to go see: tegan and sara, twice streetlight manifeto, twice reel big fish, once I missed out on going to see the mountain goats because I got sick. : (And... *drumroll*I have a ticket to go see Gogol Bordello in a month! So fucking excited. I plan to also see Sonic Youth over the summer as well, and hopefully many more bands. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Once I saved up enough money I started searching for when my favorite artists were stopping by.Then I bought them, ahead of time.I tried to get to the shows early when I could. I usually got first row this way. The times when I arrived late, I enjoyed way less. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I never used to go to many shows, because my "public" music tastes were limited by the people I spent all my time with. Being caught up with a bunch of indie kids that got all their music from the front cover of NME meant that I generally kept my mouth shut when bands like Taking Back Sunday and Simple Plan announced tours. If I could get my dad to come with me to see bands, then I would, but I'll never get over missing Jimmy Eat World be… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Going to university where I could spend my free time and money how I wanted, without parental supervision made it possible for me. I looooooove live music and I'm going to Coachella in 2 weeks!! Read how I did it…

Sarah Smiles is waiting for Kel to come back. And will wait as long as needs be.
Okay, so it was my fifth David Gray concert. But it was every bit as moving, happy and luvverly as the first. It can’t be helped – his music swallows me whole and when I’m in it, I’m in a different place: all tears, heartbeats, memories, smiles and laughter. It’s a good place to be. His music might as well be the soundtrack for my soul. So to hear it live…well, there are no words that can do that experience any kind of justice. So I’ll leave it at that. And now I’ll just let him sing me to sleep thankyouverymuch.
I’m going to a City and Colour in concert on January 11 2010.
I have drive about four hours to see him but it’ll be completely worth it.
Went to a gig by these guys in the Kithcen Garden Cafe in Kings Heath. They were doing a tribute to the music of John Martin. It was wonderful…a really small sit-down gig and the music was just beautiful, especially the double bass.
I haven’t been to a concert since a Maroon5 concert a few years back… I need to get out more
Saw “Nine Black Alps” live at Leadmill on 27th Oct (saw them 3 times in the past few years, so this was the 4th time seeing them). They rock! It was a really good gig, and I was near the front too (nearest I’ve ever been) and towards the end, the last few songs, I was stood right at the front! I went with my boyfriend, he got 2 guest list places (I’m glad I didn’t buy the tickets ages ago now)! Plus I wore my “Nine Black Alps want your soul” t-shirt I got at Manchester gig few years ago, which I had done a painting of on 27th too, before going out!
