I want to make my handwriting into a font. Any help?

Besides, I’ve always been enamored of the way I write*. It’s legible, but clearly human. I can’t wait to be able to type out lists in Excel (because I’m very, very much a list person), then print them in my own handwriting.
- = Note: I only print. I never use cursive. This was always a thorn in the side of Virginia Neal, my seventh-grade English teacher and (arguably) the fifth- or sixth-worst teacher I ever had.
I had a go at this, and it was fun (not to mention a whole lot easier now that I have a graphics tablet). The font’s a tiny bit buggy in the same way that some of the other fonts I have are (for some reason it has a couple of problems with the trailing tails) but any issues seem to resolved when I convert the text to outlines in Illustrator. Go me, I made a font!
Mmmm, I have wanted to do this for quite some time.
But, I’m not all that font-savvy, so how would one go about doing it?

I’ve been thinking about doing this for years. Have sketched out what I want to do, but haven’t sat down and done it. Dunno where I’d use it … but at least I can cross it off my list.
