I’ve participated in two protests in my city on the day the Iraq war started. It was nice to be around people who feel the same way I do. Although being in the city I’m in, there are not as many progressive groups than I would like.
But I snapped this pic from the event, I’m sure you’ll find it amusing.

On Wed Aug 17 a handful of people — actually 30 or 40 — gathered in the local town square in support of Cindy Sheehan and her protest at the Bush Ranch in Crawford TX. This was one of 1,627 vigils held around the country. I considered whether my participation among the hundreds of thousands could make a difference. I decided yes, it did—because if everyone left the work to others, nothing would be done. The additional benefit was connecting with others and learning of several other opportunities to participate in efforts expressing my core values.
If America is to remain a great country, to reenter our respected position in the world, this is a must.
