Delta 32 mutation 6 months ago

There is a company (Sangamo Biosciences) that is in phase one of a study. Here is the link. In normal terms if you can make a t-cell in a human body become the delta 32 mutation t cell the t cell will destroy the virus. The virus (HIV) cannot infect the white blood cells with the delta 32 mutation.

The one article that sums up everything:

    More about the study:

More about delta 32 from PBS

The New England Journal of Medicine:

Patient (HIV+) before study now has no viral load (no HIV) in blood. That was two years ago…Still a long way off. BUT…..

    another study: (sums up)

    CHEERS TO THIS . . . 3 years ago

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Africa and the stats are soooooooooooooo scary.

There has gotta be a cure out there somewhere and hopefully we can raise enough $$$ to get it to the people who need it.

CHEERS TO THIS GOAL, unfortunately im not an academic and dont think ill find the cure – but ill be working out there one day and supporting those who need it…..

Bought a bunch of people tickets to a Stephen Lewis talk… It’s a tiny step for raising awareness both here and in the regions in Africa where the foundation operates.

we need to treat each other better 4 years ago

it a illnes, its manageable and controlable and those who are infected not deserve the stigma they recieve.

i met a +ve person the other day, it strikes me that they are shunned for all the wrong reasons.
they are normal human beings and need to be treated as such

on a recent trip to zimbabwe i saw a number of poster which summed it up

” my freind with HIV is still my friend”

    to coin a phrase
    ‘word’
(doesn’t work in white boy-british accent but you get the jist)
