Lors2911 is a self-knowing healthy reinventor (apparently)
I always hated eating out. I have made every excuse you can think of to get out of it after having nightmares. I wouldn’t say that I was a fussy eater but always worried that I’d never find anything I liked on the menu or if I didn’t like what I ordered that it would be a waste of money.
Since my decision to start eating meat again, I am enjoying rediscovering chicken and bacon particularly and there are lots more things that I want to try. Eating out during a short break in Dublin started me off and for the first time ever, I started to enjoy myself. I still get nervous that I don’t know how to eat properly – for instance, is there a way to eat lobster without making a mess? – but I am trying to talk less and concentrate more whilst eating so hopefully won’t worry as much.
on a regular basis, going into the town for a drink and a chat or dinner and a show – even just sit in a cafe and read a book.
I suppose the verb ‘escape’ is a bit strong, suggesting a prison of family life. Perhaps I could ‘explore’ or ‘re-discover’ my former self; verbs not as dramatic, spin more positive. I could even ‘include’ my former self in my current life, but that would mean I’d have to go to aerobics classes with 20 year-olds again. I wonder if my knees would hold up? And all the 20-year-olds would now be over 40, which could mean that aerobics classes may not have that æsthetic angle I still crave.
So I hide it in other goals, like work out more and eat out more and write more. As opposed to “invite” heedless children to brush their copulating teeth and get ready for their fornicating bed for about an hour each night.
Are all nearly teenage children incapable of associating stupid behaviour on day x with unpleasant consequences on day x+1? Or is it only my little darlings?
