I paid off 3 cards this week. A 4th card will be paid off in early March. Not too shabby considering we are currently unemployed. I’d rather be penniless than in debt though. After that we have only 3 left to pay off.

Paying off credit cards can help you increase you credit score. Work you credit balance down to about 25%, but not 0%. A 0% use of your cards doesn’t help your boot credit score, because 30% of it (credit score, I mean) based on your using of credit. You should balance a budget. It helps ensure that the expenses do not exceed the income and also provide for savings for the future. Then try to find where you can make cuts. Start paying off balance with highest interest credit card. Then work on the next.
I’m crazy about credit cards. It’ like a mania for me to get more and more…and it’s really a convenient method of paying, but only if you know how… I started well but ended up in a crash.. I’m obliged now to pay off all my credit cards for good credit and turn to bad credit cards finally which are secured credit cards actually which i hate…

Credit cards are the modern-day equivalent to indentured servitude. I was practically handed one as a freshman in college, and by the time I graduated I was about 5k in debt. When I finally paid it off, it felt like I was freed from chains.
I still use cards as much as I can to rack up frequent-flyer miles, but I pay them off every month so that I pay zero interest and zero penalites while my expenses float for 2-3 weeks while I wait for the bills to come in. It’s a convenient payment method for me that actually ends up saving me money.
Get a second job or, better yet, sell all that useless crap you’ve got lying around on eBay and use the funds to buy your freedom!
