I was born in ireland and lived here all my life…
I’m 16 now and still young…
I was honestly surprised by the amount of people wanting to come here…
I lived in Dublin, Galway, Tipperary and Wicklow…
I’d love to move to the country side…
It really is magical…
For all those who planned on moving to the cities…
RECONSIDER!
Its just like any other city…
The people are mean and idiotic…
The people in the country side are friendly and fun!
Hope to see you all when you arrive =]

Beannacht.
I am of Irish descent, mainly, and have always wished to move to Eire. I lived there for a few months once before, but it has long been my deepest desire to move on a more permanent basis and to earn citizenship.

I’m married to an Irish guy, and he had one more year of college to finish so we moved back. I was looking forward to moving here, I thought being so much closer to the rest of Europe would be great.
I thought my husband’s dislike of his peers was leftover teenage angst. Little did I know that this country is actually full of really boring assholes who do nothing but drink and break things and “act the maggot”. They seem like a fun loving bunch when you’re here for a few days/weeks on vacation, but after months of living here I have to admit that I’ve come round to my husband’s view.
Of course, not everyone is bad. And the weather isn’t always terrible, only 80% of the time. But jobs are scarce and nepotism is rampant.
All in all, I suppose I regret moving here. Jury’s still out on whether we’re moving back to Canada or not as it was very expensive to get here, but yeah.

I would still like to do this, but it is getting shoved off into the background because I have things I need to work on right where I am at now.

well I want to become an irish citizen and I was hoping to be able to do it through claiming ancestry but after an email inquiry to the Irish Embassy in D.C. it looks like I will have to do it the typical way.(move to ireland on visa, become a permanent resident, then apply for citizenship). I was hoping this would be easier because I’m related to James John Joseph Connolly (one of the revolutionaries of irelands revolution against england) and I’m sure I have family over there that I dont know of or my family here doesnt know of but I dont really know how to find out for free.

Why Ireland?
I’ll tell you why. I am half Irish and since I was little I am longggged to go there. My entire Irish family tells me how much I’ll love it etc… I’ve researched it to the very bone and you know, I still want to move there.

My goal is to move to Ireland within the next 18 months. I love it there and visit yearly and have many friends in Ireland. I want to experience a different culture and explore different parts of Europe while living there. I have nothing truly standing in my way, but would like to save a little more $ before I do go.
