I finally did it! I have been wanting to do this for so long, years even. But I just never got around to it. I had some concerns because I didn’t really understand the process, so I read up on how organ donation generally runs and what the organs are used for.
Some of the organs I was kind of freaked out about… like skin and eyes. So at first I was going to exclude those from being taken from me. But I then read the purpose and what exactly is taken, and I feel better about it. So I included everything to be possibly taken from me. I figured I’m gonna be dead anyways, so I may as well help out as many people as I can. I am so happy about this! 3 years ago

How I did it: Well, I suppose the way of doing it is different in each country, according to the legislation.. For me (I live in Switzerland) it was very easy : just had to download and print the card from the government web page, fill it and sign! Read how I did it… 3 years ago

Just went on and found the link to the Organ Donor Registration site and signed up online. Now they’re sending me out the forms to make it official, so all I have to do is wait till they get here, sign them and post them back.

I have been meaning to do this for ages. Although I’m not really excited by the idea of someone cutting me up once I’m dead I feel that I’m just being stupid and if I can help someone else who needs something of mine that would otherwise just go to waste I should definitely do it.
Also got to thinking that I already don’t have a gall bladder or an appendix and it doesn’t feel any different to when I had these things, so seriously if I don’t notice various body parts missing while alive I doubt it’ll bother me when I’m dead :) 4 years ago
