This was a freaking spiritual experience. And OUTSIDE! Probably the best live show I’ve ever seen.

Lolly just is.

I saw them at Newcastle Arena a few years ago. I had to buy tickets off eBay hahaha.

I’ve tried this one 4+ times. I’ve lost interest at this point.

No words. 10 months ago

Not even sure why I’m trying to write anything about this. There are no words to describe how awesome it was to see Radiohead last night, on the final night of their US tour.

I want to do this again. And again. And again.

Set List 10 months ago

I stole this post from a blog. I will probably make a playlist on my ipod of all the songs from the setlist so I can remember the concert.

“Tonight the band is in Vancouver to kick off the West Coast portion of the North American tour. They will be playing the Thunderbird Stadium on the grounds of the University of British Columbia. The support for tonight will be Liars.”

So far the band have soundchecked: Go Slowly twice, I Might Be Wrong, and Myxomatosis twice.

Setlist:
01. 15 Step (Thom, ‘We brought the weather with us.’)
02. There There (Thom ‘How do you like the rain? It’s ok, you’ll get used to it.’)
03. Morning Bell
04. All I Need
05. Where I End And You Begin (Thom, ‘Alright no one get hurt out there tonight’)
06. Talk Show Host
07. Nude (Thom addresses crowd surfers, ‘Take it easy guys! Its not fucking Rage Against The Machine.’)
08. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
09. The National Anthem
10. Bangers And Mash (Thom, ‘This is a nasty little song.’)
11. Faust Arp (during the middle of the song Thom tells a heckler, ‘Shut the fuck up, you’re not funny you just don’t get out much.’)
12. Videotape
13. Karma Police (Thom, ‘I think we are confused. This one is called Karma Police.’)
14. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
15. Just
16. Exit Music [For A Film] (someone yells out I love you Thom. Thom replies whilst singing, I love you too darling.’)

18. House of Cards (Thom, ‘During this song you have to snog the person next to you.’)
19. Optimistic (Thom, ‘Ok we know its raining and that’s a bummer, but fuck it this is Optimistic.’)
20. You And Whose Army? (Thom, ‘That’s show business!’)
21. Planet Telex (Thom, ‘Thank you everybody.’)
22. Everything In Its Right Place

23. Reckoner (Thom, ‘Ok, this is for making you feel warm inside.’)

FINALLY!!!! Outdoor show, general admission, in the pouring rain!!! 10 months ago

But it was still amazing and totally worth it!! I have wanted to see Radiohead live ever since the mid-90s when Pablo Honey and the Bends came out. After they released OK Computer I was totally sold, and since then they have been constantly trying new things and reinventing themselves. They played a lot of their new stuff, and while I know and love their older stuff best, their new album is pretty amazing as well so it was really neat to see a new and improved version of one of my all-time favorite bands. They are no longer a quirky underground alternative band. They are full-blown rock stars, with a high-budget light show and fancy tv moniters and equipment. Their stage show was very slick and professional, and they were dressed to the nines – in classy blazers and euro-style scarves. It reminded me of the last Audioslave show I saw where Chris Cornell was in a suit and he owned the stage and he knew it. A little cocky, but at the same time you need a presence to fill an arena. On the other hand, the last time I saw Pearl Jam all they had was a bare stage, their instruments and jeans and t-shirts, and their raw music was enough to fill the arena. I bet Radiohead could pull it off either way, but this show was definitely not one of those stripped down bare stage occasions!
