Got it! Woohoo! But it came along as a natural progression because I adored my major to death, so its worth getting if you see yourself going into graduate studies/you want a scholarship/a job pays more because you have 1st class. Otherwise, don’t kill yourself over it.

It doesn’t make a big difference to my life, but it helped me to get the scholarship for the next step. I don’t think I would have started a PhD without the money.

got starred first class. Good for the ego I suppose, and I’ll need it if I go back for the PhD, but worth it? Hmmm.
I studied really hard because I loved my subject and wanted to know everything that I could. I got 100% on all my projects because I actually wanted to make progress in that field of study, maybe even discover something new. Aiming at a certain point on a marksheme would not have been enough to motivate me.
At the end of the day, I knew what I knew and I knew how to manipulate it, but if a different bunch of questions had come up on certain exams, I might have left with a 2.I, and it wouldn’t have made the slightest bit of difference to the person I am or the knowledge I possess.
Find something you are passionate about and study for the love of it, not for the marks.
I really want them and my supervisor is expecting me to get them and I think he will be a tad disappointed if I don’t. But I have to wonder what the odds are that I will score 80% or more in my honours year? Slim to none? I don’t know! I guess it all depends on how my seminar goes I suppose
