I want to develop a financially sustainable private practice 10 months ago

My counseling practice incorporates traditional “talk therapy” as well as elements of yoga (in its widest sense), Focusing, Nonviolent Communication, reiki and mindfulness as appropriate for the individual client.

Apart from counselling, I offer Reiki treatments, guided Focusing sessions and one-on-one yoga classes.

My education includes French (I am a certified translator), Psychology and Women’s Studies. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Counselling and Spirituality.

I have a beautiful space that is just waiting for clients to flow in. The next step is connecting with them!

Making the decision is easy, but being a boss to yourself is the toughest thing you will ever do. My “boss” (me) used to let me come to work when I pleased, in my pj’s even. She used to let me take endless days off, but then I never got paid. Now my “boss” is tough on me, she has set rules and makes me work really hard. Key is, not just to be your own boss, but to be a GOOD boss

I want people to do what I tell them for a change.. 18 months ago

I recently starting working with a deck repair/power washing company and am told that I’m being trained to take over 40% ownership within the next 2 or 3 years and possibly buy out the other 60% to become full owner of a company that has over 20 years worth of repeat business. All I have to do is work my ass off for the summer and take 3 months a year off. My goal is to make the company bigger and get more jobs and more money.

I don't want to fullfill someone else's dream! 3 years ago

By being my own boss, I am able not only to visualize my dreams; I have the power to make them happen.

When you work for someone else your fullfilling their dreams (well that’s not for me)... No.. I’m not my own boss yet.. but I have set a target of achieving this goal by 2009

find a client, become indispensable to client, have them recommend you to another client, invoice early and often, use basecamp for project mgmt., continually learn your craft, trade, zone of expertise, read about skillful means by tarthang tulku (Mastering Successful Work), learn the principals of “awareness – concentration – energy”, if email goes bad, call…

but how!! 4 years ago

they say people with ADHD are also their own bosses, because they’re risk-takers—that is totally me! and i don’t really fit in in the structured environment, and i’m an artist, so…..but how do i organize myself enough to make this happen??

i know i can make it 4 years ago

i feel as if my head has cleared up after all the tumultuous years of struggling to find out what i want—and that is to run my own business. having turned the company i work for into a recognized brand, i know i can thrive in it.

if only i have the money.
