I have brushed and flossed every day since I started marking it on my calendar. The other day, Someone noticed that my teeth looked nicer. I was pretty shocked because I can’t tell a difference yet, but I guess there is one. It is kindof retrocactively embarrassing, cause I hope my teeth didn’t look too terrible before And I don’t bleed when I floss any more, so that is a good sign, although I seem to have 2 fillings that will break the floss right in two if I try to floss past them. So for those teeth I only floss down and not back. That should be better than nothing right…

I have brushing my teeth at the same time after breakfast but before getting dressed every day. I brush, I floss, I rinse with listerine. And then I mark my calendar, so I can see the trend and not forget whether I did it or not. I have done it every day since I started marking the calendar. If this keeps up, I guess I will just wait 2 months for good measure, and the goal will have been accomplished.

I think I have a cavity. It kind of hurts. I have had abominable oral hygiene in the past. But… Now I want to go to the dentist, and it will be embarrassing to get stern looks and lectures, so I at least want my teeth and gums to put up a good front. And I know if I keep it up, it will be worth it in the long run.

I know, I know, we all know. And I think most people who want to do this would never really admit to the irregularity level they are at. Sigh…I’m really going to try, starting now!

When i was really young, i never brushed my teeth or floss, and I never got any cavities. Now, I’m trying harder because my gums are getting really swollen. It’s hard when I go to bed really late and I’m too tired to remember, and then i wake up really late the next day, eat lunch, and quickly get into my day. Its too hard to remember. And when i do remember, my mind says “i dont wannna! I’ll do it tomorrow!” Its such a hassle because i’m so busy. I’m trying, though.

Flossing really is the problem for me….
I do brush twice a day – admittedly not to well, but I’m working on it.
And sometimes I do get too lazy and let myself not floss at night before bed. I just don’t wanna waste the time, “I’m too tired” – I tell myself.
But in reality, you can do the following to get on the right path (to flossing, not rightousness – this is no religious site :) :
1. Place the floss next to where you keep your toothbrush.
So you see it immediately and don’t forget about it.
2. When you get up in the morning and you notice that you forgot to floss – do it right then and there. Don’t let yourself escape this chore or else you’ll get used to it.
3. Realize that flossing – done properly, shouldn’t take anymore than 3 minutes – the amount of time we should be brushing for, twice a day.
So our conclusion should be – 9 minutes a day and we’ll never see the dentist again until we’re 60.
Any dentist here beg to differ? :)

I think the real problem is flossing, I brush every day, but I often cannot make myself floss at night before bed. I think that I need to create a stronger evening ritual for myself.
