Got Papi? (Papacito) is headed back to Microsoft! :D
Went trout fishing there in 2002 and caught the most beautiful browtrout I have ever seen.
fantastic, amazing. great scenery, absolute desolation, and then mountains and glaciers. Out of this world.
Actually, this one is a mixed bag for me. I was in the Chilean side of Patagonia last fall (Fall 2005) doing sea kayaking and mountain travel. It sounds exciting, but most of the time we were dealing with really harsh weather (it rained for eight straight days once), living in tents, eating pasta without vegetables or meat, that kind of stuff.
I’ve heard Chile is trying to increase tourism in their area, but it hasn’t been too successful because the weather’s not great. On the other hand, when it’s not raining it was great to be outside in nature—we did manage to see two glaciers and hike in some of the most remote areas known to anyone. If scenery is your thing and you don’t mind weather, Patagonia’s definitely a good way to go.
