... I managed over the course of the last year to nurse two almost-dying plants back to health.
i have a cactus from ikea and an aloe plant from kmart. they require next to no water and look cute on my window ledge. it always makes me happy when i look at them and think that i am keeping something alive.
I’ve got some herbs and Plants to get rid of mosquitos (try to translate “Zitronengeranie” from german) and one or two that i just find nice. Even Strawberrys are there as well as a peach tree (which i havent at my place right now because it hasn’t enough space …)
Once you start taking care on a plant you’ll miss it when you are away from the plants.
I have summer plants out in the porch boxes, and someone from my lab gave me two succulent plantlets which are rooting in mini yogurt containers in the living room. They aren’t growing tall very fast but I think that’s because they’re making roots. They’re green and happy looking. Yay plants!
okay, I kind of cheated but i got bamboo and it really makes a difference and it’s easy to care for. Oh the cheating part is that I’ve had the bamboo for 2 years now. My apartment is too small for more plants.
I want to get some living breathing plants to bring warmth into my apartment and hopefully make it a more of a home. It seems so bland and cold right now.
I went to People’s Co-op for the houseplant this weekend and apparently lost my marbles for a spell. Must’ve got all swept up in the world of plants. I ended up with an 11 ft. Bird of Paradise plant somehow thinking it would fit nicely in my dining room. I’m such an IDIOT! Ended up hauling it back after about half an hour of looking at it dominate my house.
Anyhoo … it was a fun fantasy plant expedition. The BOP is an amazing houseplant and I would highly recommend getting one if you have the room for it. The scale was way off for my more modestly sized home.
My house guests last week informed me that my house needs more warmth. They recommended a houseplant. Two may be in order. Any suggestions?
I’ll probably head to these places tomorrow:
