Hi. I’m currently planning a month long road trip to Fairbanks, AK. I’m going for school. I want to hike, camp, and save as much money as possible. I’m currently looking into converting my truck to run on water ha. Hopefully what I’m looking into isn’t bullshit. But I was wondering. What are the best places of our country, the coolest, prettiest. I want to see the shit of my life. I want to kick it hard. I’m looking for parks, hikes, etc, not so much restaurants and the like. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
cheers!
I have always dreamt of doing a year long road trip and in March my dog and I are heading out in my Subaru Ouback. A year on the road Yippie. Anyone have ideas on where we should go?
Countless miles, stopping at everything you’ve ever wanted to see in America. Alaska? Maybe.
i want to start in alabama and make my way to washington state, almost accross the whole country.. i’m thinking we’ll pass through Louisianna, mississippi, texas, new mexico, arizona and on to LA, stay in texas and LA and then up through ca to oregon and to WA.. i’ve been all these places but i want to do a rd. trip and then maybe drive back diagonally through idaho, colorado, oklahoma, etc, back to Alabama.. ??!!! anyway, i really need a new car before i do this, or a rental
I’ve already traveled back and forth between Connecticut & Maine as well as Connecticut, New York…back and forth to Florida. Recently I’ve married and my wife and I would love to do a road trip starting in either Connecticut or Florida and travel out to Arizona and was hoping some other people might know some must see sights along the way, etc. We have no exact dates or times but would like to do something over a span of about 1 1/2 – 2 weeks.
It was fun when I was a kid. Remember it was a lot of time in the car.
My friends and I want to do it but we have never done it before so we’re trying to find out the best way to do it and the best route…any suggestions?
Instead of going cross country horizontal my friend and I have decided we are going cross continent vertical. We want to visit Alaska, and I’ve been practically dying to see Canada. We still need to do A LOT of reasearch and money saving. We plan to go after our high school graduation in 2008.
In my life I have travelled around the country a bit. Florida, Colroado, New Mexico (briefly), Oklahoma, Seattle, Dallas, and a few others. But most of these were visits to see family which, though nice, doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for experiencing the people and culture of any given area. I’d love to get in a vehicle and just drive to wherever, stay until we’re ready to go adn then go somewhere else. Does this sound like fun to anyone else because seriously, I really want to get out and see some things and meet some different people.
