How I did it: After hearing a lot of hype about the Twilight saga I decided to give it a chance. It took me me 2 days to get through each book. I really enjoyed the books, and the relaxation. Now I can't wait to see all of the movie sequels (I know they wont be better than the books) Reading the saga also turned me into a completely obsessed fan and its definently brought a lot of joy to my life. How I did it: I am one of the pickiest readers on earth. Something is almost always 'off' in a book I read. But there are a few books that I've been reading lately that are some of the most well written books that tie different parts together into an amazing story. What really bothers me is that almost every good book I read has a terrible ending. Read how I did it…

Of course what I consider to be a really good book might not meet other people’s standards. However I have read some absolutely wonderful books.
I really like it when a book blows me away with either a new idea that is well presented and explored, characters who seem real and who I grow to care about or presents factual information in a compelling manner.
I read mainly science fiction and books about wine these days, and I’m generally very pleased with what I read. I usually read when I’m on a trip and I read during part of my time at the gym.
Some of books I’ve read recently that I consider to be really good have been:
“Judgment of Paris: California vs. France and the Historic 1976 Paris Tasting That Revolutionized Wine” by George Taber
“Coalescent”, “Exultant” and “Transcendent” by Stephen Baxter
“The Armies Of Memory” by John Barnes

I haven’t read a really good book for ages but the other day i read a book by Melinda Marchetta (author of looking for Alibrandi) called “on the Jellicoe road” its her new one. At first it is very confusing and therefore a little annoying. But it develops into a very moving story about the lives of kids on the jellicoe road and the inspiring friendships formed. I loved the bit at the end about who was the serial killer. I dont think she could have made it anyone better. The territory wars were also a little complicated to understand but tied the book together. I also love the fact thats its an australian author and in all her books she writes from sydney and sometimes adeliade and i live near sydney so i mostly know the places where she is writting about.
I guess this was a really good book.
