I have a short attention span. So I should do short stories. I’m working on the long version of Patti’s life, but when that’s done, I think short stories that are an offshoot of her life would be cool.

Lunacera wanting to redesign my life.
I didn’t even know what this was until I read a few 43 Things posts. I just joined today and am super excited. Something to keep me accountable. Yes!!
I’ve still been writing a bit off and on. Of course, I continue to feel like my ideas are stupid, but I promised myself that I will keep plugging away at it.
I was thinking again today that it’s easier for me to write when I have deadlines, and I had the idea to look into taking a creative writing class this coming semester. Every time I think about it, I feel excited, so I think that’s something I’ll definitely try to fit into my schedule.
I started a short story today. I can’t say that I’m thrilled with what I’ve written so far, but at least it’s a start. I don’t know why it’s so much easier for me to write when I have an assignment and a due date. When I’m doing it for fun, I can’t seem to take myself seriously.
So when I was in Seattle I went to a park and wrote when T had to go to work. I ended up writing more in 2 days than I did for the rest of the summer combined. I feel succesful and optomistic.
I really need to jot some new ideas down and to work on older stories that I never finished or that need revision.
Like, seriously, this has taken the bigger side of creative percent in my brain. No advances or anything because no one is reading this.
for a book of short stories – we just gotta execute it! We are huge Gabriel Garcia Marquez fans (Colombian novelist). He wrote “A hundred years of Solitude” one of the most incredible novels, written in his inimitable “magical realism” voice. Magical realism is a genre of storytelling utilized in Latin American prose. Anyhow, we want to capture interesting/chilling real-life stories from small towns in Mexico and twist them with magical realism. We’ve got the stories.. I’ve actually starting writing one… quite a task, I must add…
