I was rejected a few weeks ago, but since I was really expecting to get in, I wasn’t really disappointed. (Am now deciding btwn Michigan and Cornell…I think I hate decisions more than rejection letters…)

So I didn’t get in. But I’m taking it in stride… wasn’t meant to be and all that.
I don’t want to click the ‘I give up’ button, but I guess I don’t really care that much if I get into Brown or not any more(I’ll find out in a few weeks). I don’t feel like it is my ‘first choice’ nowadays(I don’t feel that I have any ‘first choice’). I got into one college already—so I know I’l be going somewhere next year. Having ‘get into MIT’ or ‘go to Harvard for undergrad’ as a life goal seems strange. These schools have such crapshoot odds that being rejected doesn’t really mean anything (and consequentially, getting accepted doesn’t necessarily mean anything either). It’s almost like saying that winning the lottery is your main goal in life. I don’t know, maybe my perspective would change if I got into somewhere really ‘prestigious’ or whatever. With that said, Brown seems like a really great place, and I don’t mean to underestimate the amount of work and talent that goes in to getting in. Congrats to anyone who does get accepted here or anywhere else!
So I applied early and was deferred. We’ll see what happens come March/April, but I’m not expecting anything. Still really want this though. We’ll see.
Christopher is grateful for the sun, always and forever
I got in Early!!! :-) Class of 2012!!
I applied Early Decision a few months ago, and I have an interview tomorrow. I’m probably not going to get in (of course, the numbers are against all of us), but that’s not going to stop me from trying!
Update (Dec. 13): argh, I was deferred today!
I’m now a sophmore @ highschool but 100% sure that Brown is my top choice!! I’m kind of pissed because a screwed up my freshmen year …so now a don’t have a high G.P.A crap! i really want to go to Brown!!! :(
I cried a lot – I thought my life was over. But I’ll be okay at Hamilton… more than okay. Maybe things just weren’t meant to be.
Because I don’t want to go anymore! I have become quite excited to go to Amherst and care not for Brown any longer.
