that’s my plan for cali.
but first I need the money to buy a car, have enough gas to get to cali, and then get a job there.

but I will do it.
How I did it: I put my things in storage, got a po box and moved into my car! It realy was that simple. First off, Los Angeles is a great place to live in your car the weather is perfect not to cold, not to humid, and not to much rain all things that can make it a bit complicatd. I never had a problem keeping clean showers are easy enough to come by at the gym, or a city pool, or at the beach. People don't always know their neigh… Read how I did it…

Save money,
Not be around my unreasonable family
I need to save up some money and not pay rent so I guess this is the best way to go.
Thankfully my car in COMFY
I am currently living in my car. I have done this before a few years ago by choice for two weeks because it was less stress than staying in the overcrowded house I was staying at.
This time it is by force, and I am currently at about 5 weeks running. Well the truth is it sucks. I work and have income but the days are boring and got to find so many ways to kill time without getting in trouble. Sure, I’ll save money on rent, but the uncertainty of when this will end is annoying. Thoug it is nice when it’s time to get some shut eye, if you can find a nice safe place to park/sleep where the cops won’t bother you.
You sure do listen to a lot more radio and watch a lot less tv also.
It was so worth it. It’s one of those things that must be experienced- I can’t really explain why I did it or what it felt like to do it.
Oh, and not only was I living in my car, but this was on the streets of Los Angeles, after living the first 18 years of my life in Nashville, TN. Quite the culture shock…
Other than not having a bathroom, it has been an okay experience. There was one night when I woke up at about 2am to hear two guys arguing on the street (right by my cracked-open window) about whether or not they were going to break into a house. That was scary. As soon as they walked away I drove to a different neighborhood.
I’m moving into a house at the beginning of September. Right now I’m housesitting – only for a couple of days. I like being in a house. I think by the end of the month I’ll be really tired of sleeping in a car – at least on a regular basis. I like having the experience, but I also like having a choice. Perhaps that makes me one of those spoiled bohemian kids. I dunno. I don’t have the illusion that I “understand the homeless” or anything. I have an easy exit. Maybe I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it? That’s crazy. Really, I just couldn’t find a place to live that I liked, and I was worried about money. Living in my car would still be a lot cheaper, but I don’t want to do it. There.
I’m leaving my current house because I can’t stand my landlord, and I want to try to save some money. Is it worth it? I don’t know. I think it’ll be a lot of stress. But part of me also needs to prove to myself that I can do it. And I want to know what it’s like. We’ll see.
I’m not willing to deal with the logistics of doing this right now. Maybe I’ll do it as soon as I get back from the UK.
Lived in my car for a good five months and it was great. It was rough at times but if you can handle it (you can do just about anything). This was living life to the fullest and the uncertainty was attractive.
