cn tower stair climb. 7 months ago

i signed up to do the cn tower stair climb this year and i need to be able to make it to the top. taking the stairs is getting easier but its hard since i live on the top floor (15th). im no longer dying by the top but 1776 stairs is a long way up. i have a month to get into shape still, and the competition with my boyfriend to make it up first keeps me going. i hope it enough to get me all the way to the top

I need to make it more of a life long habit, instead of a chore.

This year has started off really well. This is my fourth week of working out. I get to the gym about 2 or 3 times a week, and as my body gets used to it and starts changing, I’m hoping to do more!

REFINED : walking 3 x's a week 9 months ago

and when i say walking< i mean walking. WE don’t have sidewalks in my town and the Winema National Forest is about 3 blocks away. So it’s not speed walking, but it is active walking. Also, when my teenage son’s bike pedal gets fixed, I can ride the bike at least once a week.

I am walking only one time a week.

The obstacles are:

1. Planning. I have to plan enough time to take the dogs out because it takes longer with them, and if I am stopping in a place I have to make sure I have a plan where to tie them up. They are used to this, it’s only that I forget and then I end up driving.

2. Too much stuff to carry! Running errands, I do mail, return library books, take or pick up jewelery and cards. However, I just need to do it. The library books aren’t THAT heavy.

3. I need better leashes, so I can carry stuff and walk the dogs on the leash when needed. Usually they free run, but now when we get around people or parking lots.

4. The weather. I like to walk when it is sunny, but not overcast or too cold. I think this is a low priority though b/c if the other 3 things are taken care of I will naturally walk on sunny days.

procrastination 10 months ago

I do exercise, but not in any way to actually lose some weight. I also have gotten a bit lazy in middle age, which i believe is a rebellion due to the fact I do not have to stress any longer as a single parent.

My weight used to be maintained by my anxiety, I was skinny b/c i was nervous all the time.

Now I am healthier overall, but need to find some balance

I was doing pretty well, but I have just slid off the wagon a bit. Time to pick myself up and get back at it.

I exercise quite a bit, but work still gets in the way too often.

Grr...... 22 months ago

Exercising for me needs to be fun and new. I walk home from school everyday but that doesnt seem to be enough. My legs are in somewhat good shape, but my lil belly is going nowhere. Im thinking of going to the gym once in awhile but I dont want to go by myself. I think that it would be better if I could find someone to cheer on and have them cheering me on in return. Is that a srange idea?
