...It’s not about playing faster or fitting more notes in. It’s about passion and emotion. Drumming is about supporting the soul of the song. I need to rediscover that.

...namely not owning a kit. I finished paying for a purple-heart segment shell 3-piece being built by Rob of Hard Bop Drums yesterday, so in a month or two I’ll finally be able to move beyond the practice pad.

This one is a little bitter-sweet, but next week my drummer of the last 3 years is going on vacation to chile with his new family for 6 months. that means that I get the pieces of my drum-kit back that I have loaned to him for the last three years…
namely my hi-hat.
wow. that probably just doesn’t make sense to anyone but musicians. It doesn’t even really make sense to me.
