Now they’re weaned and getting big, but they havn’t quite yet got the hang of “don’t swim in your food”! They’re so messy all the time and need frequent baths.
shespeaks is trying to make sense of it all
i miss my little kitties!
They’re much bigger now, eyes open and just starting to play with each other albeit very clumsily:

I’ve been doing foster care for kittens, taking them home for a while from the local animal shelter and it’s been an interesting (at difficult at times) experience. The current group are week-old orphans—4 of them that need bottle feeding. Suprisingly they’re great eaters so it makes it easier. ( some kittens don’t like the bottle or have a hard time nursing from it and end up trying to chew it which doesn’t work and just gets them frustrated ) Between feedings they just sleep and they don’t make much of a mess (yet…) Soon they’ll be a real handfull.
in june of 2006 my brother brought home a box of about 1 week old kittens he found on the road. Over the next few weeks I was getting up every 3-4 hours to feed em and make em go potty and all that fun mommy cat stuff. Most possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life, but it felt great knowing that I kept 5 little baby kittens alive . (the picture is about 2 1/2 weeks after I got em.)
Want to loose your heart and a lot of money? Raise kittens. I’ve been breeding and showing pedigreed cats for five years now. No regrets. And I’ve learned a lot.
